Busy week…

I’ve been away from the blog for almost a week. It’s been very hectic. L (and the baby) continue to do well.

What a whilrwind! Starting last Sunday, I traveled to Minnesota for an early morning Board of Directors meeting. On Tuesday, I was officially named a Vice President of the information technology company for which I work. I then flew to Washington DC for meetings today and only got back home well after midnight tonight.

Next week, I’m headed back to Washington (Mon-Wed). I then return home, pick up L, and then we’re off to Alaska on Friday for a 7 day cruise. Interestingly, we got a call from Holland America to upgrade to a deluxe balcony suite for only a couple of hundred bucks extra… so, I jumped on that chance!

This pleased L and thus conforms to my policy: what the pregnant lady wants, the pregnant lady gets.

I’ll write more over the weekend.

Wow! I’ve been away for a bit, so I’m just catching up with blogs, etc. You two are close to the end of the first trimester! Congrats!
Have a wonderful cruise…and steer clear when the pregnant lady hits the buffet…nothing like the early pregnancy munchies. :)

    Hi Julia,

Yeah, I was wondering where you went off to… how are you doing?

Yup, the first trimester is coming to an uneventful end. I’m really happy that things have gone so well for L during these early months. Her next trip to the OB is on Wednesday (which I’ll miss due to business travel).

Congratulations on the promotion! Does that mean more, less or the same amount of traveling for work?

Glad to hear things are progressing well in the pregnancy, and very excited for your trip to Alaska. I haven’t been yet, but definitely on the list of places to go. Have you been before? I’m curious to know what the nights are like. Having just gotten back from Victoria, BC, I have to say I had a very hard time sleeping with it only being semi-dark for about 7 hours. Hope that isn’t the case for you, and that you have a wonderful and amazing trip!

    Hi Myndi,

Thanks! Yeah, oOn balance, it probably means about the same amount of travel — maybe a little more with a bit more geographical diversity. We’ll see.

Don’t worry — I’ll let you know all about Alaska. This will be a first trip to the state for us.

Glad to hear your vacation went well, I looked through your post quickly, but I plan to read it more closely later tonight or tomorrow.
